Beautiful Brandon!

I don’t know about you, but when I drive by stuff like this I can’t help but stop and savor the moment.  How lucky are we that we get to live in an area where fields of sunflowers just make your day!?

This incredible field of sunflowers is on the East side of Route 7 in Brandon, across from the former Brandon Training School and the McKernon Group offices, just south of the cemetary.

How sweet is this??  Everyone in the family gets a space on the front lawn.  This is the kind of yard you can enjoy!

Another great house in a super location.  I know the neighbors…you will love living here :)

In my business classes in college we spent a moment learning about real estate.  My professor told me that there were only three things that you needed to know about selling real estate….LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!  Move your mouse up to the MLS number above  or the photo to learn more about this house, then give us a call to check it out!  802.388.4242

Meet your neighbors!

Perrin SheepA funny thing happened on the way to South Ridge yesterday…

It was a beautiful day for picture taking so I drove out to one of Middlebury’s newest neighborhoods, South Ridge, to take photographs of the houses for sale and try to capture the essence of the neighborhood.  Wasn’t I surprised when I crested the hill on Meadow Glen Drive to see a flock of sheep!

The sheep love the plush, green meadows, but after a while they made it home to the Perrin’s farm on Creek Road.

Price Reduction Week!

After a heavy, wet snowfall in our region, the sun is peaking it’s head through the clouds. It’s going to be a great weekend so get out and enjoy it!  (If you’re looking for something to do in Middlebury this weekend, you won’t have to look too far. Head downtown from 2-4 and sample some chili at the 2nd Annual Middlebury Winter Carnival and Chili Contest)

On the real estate side of things…

It’s our responsibility as the marketing agency for our clients to keep them informed of the marketplace and to advise them on how best to respond to the market.  In that vein, several seller’s have reduced the prices on a number of properties we have for sale.

In general, Sellers of real estate are encouraging offers and hoping to close on their properties sooner rather than later.

Here are the latest revisions:

340 Thompson Hill Road, Weybridge – Reduced from $475,000 to $440,000

90 Mulberry Lane, Hinesburg – Reduced from $385,000 to $375,000

Case Street is the Place to Be!

If you take a ride north from the post office in East Middlebury, you’ll see several For Sale signs.  We’ve got three houses available on Case Street, in different price ranges, offering different strokes for different folks.  Now’s the time to make your move!

2776 Case Street

Get in quick, I don’t think this will last long.   This is a great house that has been owned by the same person for 36 years!  On almost an acre of land, there is plenty of room to expand and grow in this gem on Case Street.

Case Street in Middlebury

5085 Case Street

The house is very well sighted off the road, in fact if there wasn’t a for sale sign you might not see it!  Single floor living with tons of extra basement space, a huge yard and a great two-car garage.

2020 Case Street

This one’s a real charmer!  The owners put on an addition a few years ago increasing the living space and functionality of the house.  They’ve had a lot of fun here, but it’s time for them to move on.  Help make that happen!

We hope you like what you see here and if you want to check them out for yourself give us a call. In the mean time, click on the pictures or address for additional information.

The Road Not Taken

Well, that’s not exactly true of this road, but it’s a catchy title and certainly appropriate as a means to tell you about this incredible home for sale on the side of Robert Frost Mountain in Ripton, Vermont.

Dining Room Fireplace

The beams (exposed on the main level and providing the structural support for the second floor) are more than a foot square and span the entire length of the house.  Impressive, right?  What’s even more impressive is that they were hand hewn by the original owner of the house!  They really are beautiful and compliment nicely the four woodburning fireplaces (Dining Room, Living Room, Master Bedroom, Guest Bedroom), the wide pine plank flooring and the tastefully updated kitchen and baths.  Surrounded by 20 acres in the mountain town of Ripton, this just might be your Vermont dream home!

Ripton is a pretty cool town too and home to Middlebury College’s Breadloaf Campus (home of the Writer’s Conference and the School of English), the SnowBowl, Rikert Touring Center, the Long Trail and so much more!

Check this house out and let us know when you want to take a look.  (Click here for more information)

January 2010

Things are happening in the real estate market. Just this week we’ve listed two really great, really different properties.  One, a beautiful Colonial in Cornwall on a bunch of acres with incredible northerly views.  Second, an nature enthusiast’s paradise in the “Art and Soul” of Brandon, VT.  The market continues to remain active and there really are some amazing choices.

If you’re at all interested in finding out a bit more about what’s out there and how you can get there please don’t hesitate to give us a call, email or stop by.  At the very least take a stroll downtown and do some shopping.  Our neighbors at the Vermont Book Shop are looking for friends, get a taste of Vermont or a gift at Vermont’s Own Products or check out Nancie Dunn’s crazy, zany, super-fun greeting cards at Sweet Cecily.  Whatever you decide to do, get out and enjoy VERMONT!
